Mesquite Bowl with Turquoise Powder Inlay

This bowl was handmade from local and responsibly sourced mesquite wood. The bowl was made from an area of the tree where two branches converge, called a "crotch." The compression of wood fibers and swirling grain in this part of the tree are responsible for the beautiful figure. I filled a couple of small voids in the wood with turquoise powder.
This bowl was meticulously crafted and will last for generations as a functional piece of art.

Maintenance and care: The wood has been sealed with a food-safe product called General Finishes Salad Bowl Finish. It provides a high gloss finish that is completely impermeable to liquids, and it's easily cleaned with warm soap and water. This bowl was handmade and likes to be hand-washed. Please do NOT put it in the dishwasher.
