Mesquite Crotch Bowl with Turquoise Inlay
$159.00 Sold Out
This bowl is handmade from local and responsibly sourced mesquite wood. The blank was cut from an area of the tree where two branches converge, called a "crotch." The compression of wood fibers and swirling grain in this part of the tree are responsible for the beautiful figure. Small cracks in the wood were inlaid with turquoise powder.
Mesquite is renowned for its density and stability, and it withstands repeated use as a food serving bowl. This bowl was meticulously crafted and will last for generations as a functional piece of art.

Maintenance and care: This bowl was finished with food-safe walnut oil and wax. Clean with soap and water, and dry after each use. When the wood begins to look dry, simply apply mineral oil, walnut oil, or any food-grade oil of your choice. If the bowl begins to feel rough, a quick sanding with 400 grit sandpaper will smooth it out. This bowl was handmade and likes to be hand-washed. Please do NOT put it in the dishwasher, microwave, or freezer.
